Considerations for packaging classification
This article focuses on the key roles played by packaging, which range from product transportation and storage to providing information to consumers. However, the authors also emphasise the global environmental problem now posed by packaging waste. To understand this problem and discover solutions, the article authors propose introducing a classification system for packaging based on four main aspects: function, supply chain, material and opportunities for reuse.
