Paraguay, although considered as an economically stable country, has an education system in need.  The country is developing rapidly and faces growing challenges, such as inadequate environmental and sanitary standards, lack of infrastructure and increased mobility, as well as public policies aimed at guaranteeing education, not only for children but also for adults, for whom there are currently practically no measures to promote their education.

AHK Paraguay, which has been present in the country since 1956 and has continuously promoted environmental awareness and sustainable development in it, sees the potential in developing practical models for innovative solutions to achieve international sustainability goals using modern environmental technologies.

In rural Paraguay, young people often complete only the minimum of compulsory education, or specific training. The goal was to create a centre for teaching environmental technologies in vocational schools, with the necessary infrastructure and technology to provide solutions to the daily challenges faced by schools and to ensure that students learn sustainable and innovative environmental practices and technologies during their education. These skills as technicians increase the opportunities and prospects for a better employment on the labour market and ensure greater prosperity and better living conditions in the long term. With the establishment of these pilot centres, not only sustainable techniques can be taught, but also multiplier effects such as knowledge transfer, awareness raising and the expansion of innovations in Paraguay that specifically implement local environmental protection and environmental standards can be promoted.

For the creation of these environmental centres, investments for training as well as for technological components in the field of water analysis and recycling were conceivable. This can effectively reduce environmental pollution and ensure efficient water use.
