The Germantech platform links German and Russian companies from the waste sector and is part of the Environmental Technologies Export Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nucelear Safety. The German-Russian Chamber of Commerce presented the platform in 2019. Germantech.ru is used to promote Germany's many years of experience and expertise in the waste and environmental service sector among representatives from business and politics in Russia. The platform is not only accessible to business representatives, but also to political structures responsible for implementing waste reform in Russia. The Germantech portal communicates experiences and technologies that are used in the German waste management sector. At the same time, the portal provides German companies seeking to enter Russia with an overview of current developments on the Russian market. Germantech also provides an important instrument for initiating partnerships. Interested German companies from the waste sector can register in the portal's database with their company profile to present themselves to potential Russian partners. The latter, in turn, can use a search function to find out about technology partners from Germany.

Project results:

  • Since its launch, a total of 40 German technology providers have registered on the platform. The tendency is increasing;
  • important cooperation partnerships with German and Russian partner organisations have been established with the help of the platform;
  • German technology providers are expanding their business in Russia through the platform.

The Russian government has declared the reform of waste management to be one of its priorities. This creates a high demand for environmental technologies which cannot be met by Russian manufacturers. This circumstance and the high appreciation of products "Made in Germany" lead to an increase in demand for German environmental technologies.
