In Southeast Asia, the Export Initiative Environmental Protection is supporting governments in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand as they work with various partner organisations to phase out single-use plastic, reduce waste, and process waste for recycling and reuse.

Speakers in the video include the Deputy Director of the Pollution Control Department at Thailand’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Preeyaporn Suwanaged, and the Group Leader for Conformity Assessment and Management Standards at the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI), who discuss specific solution strategies for these problems. The Mayor of Phuket, Ornpailin Trakulpraripon, also presents the pilot project for tackling single-use plastic waste within her jurisdiction.
